The Gen Group Construction, L.L.C. is run by the duo of licensed contractor, Charlie Genin and real estate developer, Robert Daigle. Charlie has always called Acadiana home and attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, earning his undergraduate degree in Marketing. After working in the oilfield as a financial analyst, Charlie found his way back to ULL to obtain a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (M.B.A.).

For over two decades, Robert has been successful with land development in the gulf south, and other regions in Louisiana/Mississippi. Creating mixed-use and traditional neighborhood developments, Robert is very aware of the type of quality construction that it takes to see communities thrive. When family brought these two together, both Charlie and Robert saw an opportunity to pursue both of their passions: building the types of homes that ensure the success of the communities they serve.

What do you find most fulfilling about being a builder?

“ I get a great deal of satisfaction from turning an empty patch of grass into a work of art for individuals, families and friends. My competitive nature and pursuit of perfection loves the challenges of this industry; it forces us to continuously innovate and adapt to our changing environment and challenge the standards of quality and customer satisfaction.”

“I was raised on old-fashioned morals of honesty, integrity and ethical business practices. I believe that when you stop chasing money and start pursuing your passion, you truly become successful, and I strive each day to build every home to the same standard I expect of my own personal home.”

“The secret of success is to do the common thing, uncommonly well.”

— John D. Rockefeller Jr.
